While digital placemaking has positive development of our urban environments in sight, oftentimes collaborating with government and stakeholders in strategic efforts to develop urban spaces in direction of becoming democratic, vital, inclusive and building consensus-driven local communities by means of digital implementations and design, urban media art derives from different objectives, oftentimes seeking to challenge the status quo and our sense of agency in it.
